“Love Scout” Episodes 1 And 2 Review- I’m In Love Already, What A Cute Start

SBS has unveiled its 1^st ever Kdrama of 2025, and its already looking immensely promising, let us discuss the premiere of “Love Scout.”

The combination of Han Ji Min and Lee Joon Hyuk seemed promising from the get-go and I am glad to report that what I thought was true, they share great chemistry together and my heart was fluttering the entire time.

Generally speaking, Lee Joon Hyuk tends to focus on dramas in genres that aren’t exactly rom-coms, so its nice to see him in one right now sharing the screen with the cutest Han Ji Min.

So the story is similar to many others with the same topic, a lead character gets a secretary and then falls for them. The roles this time are reversed with the male lead being the secretary, the mild one, and the one that holds down the fort. The script is written by a woman named Kim Ji Eun, but there is no information about her on the web, so I have nothing to compare this to.

Joon Hyuk does a great job at it, he plays this sort of very impossible-to-exist man. The dude is good at his job, has a daughter, is organized, chill, and seems like a generally nice man. Extremely unrealistic but love it regardless. Where do we find men like this? I know, I know, its impossible. I’m just saying. This is the perfect type of character to fangirl over…. Well down writernim.

He’s contrasted by Han Ji Min’s character, a generally hot-tempered woman, hard at work, very strict and driven, where is she driven? Or why is she so driven? We don’t know yet, but she’s driven regardless.

On the inside, she’s empty, lonely and suffering from health issues due to the nature of her job. So our male lead should be able to bring life to her life.

Some scenes in the drama reminded me of the devil wears prada, but in a good way. The drama filled me with positive emotions and while typical, I enjoyed it very much. I don’t know what the tone will be for the drama’s run time and whether they’ll keep teasing us or the leads will jump right into the romance part, but regardless, I expect it to be messy, cute and fun to watch.

I also liked the mature approach to it, while at first, it seems like Ji-Yun is being petty, she actually has a good reason to reject him as a secretary and he also gives a good reason for her to judge him specifically on the merit of his abilities as a secretary, not his previous work. I thought that was a nice touch. The dude also understood he misspoke and didn’t hesitate to correct his mistakes which is the bare minimum, but men don’t often do this in reality, so we’re celebrating here… for the fictional character…. >.<

I can’t wait to see next week’s episodes, this will likely be very cute and honestly, it filled me with positive feelings that 2025 might be a better year for kdramas in general.
