SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan, Dino, and Mingyu to Fulfill Mandatory Military Service
SEVENTEEN members Seungkwan, Dino, and Mingyu will be fulfilling their mandatory military service.
Agency Pledis Entertainment announced on August 10th via SEVENTEEN’s official Weverse channel that “SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu will begin his military service on September 10th, and Seungkwan and Dino will enlist on October 26th.”
According to the announcement, Mingyu will begin alternative service starting September 10th. Seungkwan and Dino, meanwhile, will enter a training center on October 26th and are set to serve as military band soldiers in the Army.
The three plan to attend their previously scheduled official activities up until enlistment, but no separate official events are planned for the day they enlist. Pledis Entertainment also asked fans to refrain from visiting for enlistment ceremonies or their alternative service posts.
Pledis Entertainment added, “All three members will continue to meet with Carats (the fandom’s name) through a variety of content prepared in advance. Please leave your messages of farewell and encouragement for the members through Weverse,” and asked fans for “unchanging love and support so that Mingyu, Seungkwan, and Dino can faithfully complete their military service and return to us even healthier.”
Currently, in addition to Mingyu, Seungkwan, and Dino, SEVENTEEN members Vernon and Dokyeom are also set to enlist on August 20th and September 8th, respectively. Woozi and Hoshi are currently serving on active duty, and Wonwoo is also fulfilling alternative service.
