One Of The Biggest Variety Entertainment Awards In South Korea Will Skip The Red Carpet His Year

KBS will not hold the red carpet event for the “2024 KBS Entertainment Awards.”

On December 13, a KBS representative announced, “The ‘Red Carpet’ event for the ‘2024 KBS Entertainment Awards,’ scheduled for December 21, will not take place this year.” The decision was reportedly influenced by large-scale protests in Yeouido triggered by the declaration of martial law by President Yoon Suk Yeol. The KBS representative explained that the cancellation was made in consideration of the congestion in Yeouido caused by the protests.

The “2024 KBS Entertainment Awards” will feature actors Lee Joon, singer Lee Young Ji, and Lee Chan Won as the three main hosts. Notably, national MC Yoo Jae Suk will also attend, marking his first appearance at the event in four years since the “2020 KBS Entertainment Awards.” Yoo Jae Suk will participate as an award presenter for both the Reality and Show/Variety categories.

The “2024 KBS Entertainment Awards” will air live on December 21 at 9:20 PM KST. The event will feature diverse performances as a special gift to viewers who supported KBS programming throughout the year.
