Comedian Kim Byung Man Late To Official Press Event, Twice In The Past Several Months, No Apologies Offered
Comedian Kim Byung Man is once again facing criticism after arriving late to an official press event without offering an apology.
On May 20, a press conference for TV CHOSUN’s global survival competition show “Survival King 2” was held at the broadcaster’s studio in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. Cast members including Kim Jong Kook, Kim Byung Man, Yuk Jun Seo, Younghoon, CP Lee Seung Hoon, and PD Yoon Jong Ho attended the event.
“Survival King 2” is a global survival competition where elite survival experts from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Malaysia compete while representing their countries. Expanding beyond jungles to deserts and unpredictable urban environments, the program aims to explore the true meaning of survival.
The press conference was originally scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., but the event started around 20 minutes late after Kim Byung Man reportedly arrived behind schedule due to rainy weather.
Because the event format required photo sessions before the Q&A portion, reporters were unable to enter the venue until the cast completed filming, forcing the media to wait approximately 20 minutes. Kim Byung Man reportedly did not apologize for the delay.
This is not the first time the comedian has been criticized for tardiness at an official event. Back in March, Kim Byung Man also arrived 15 minutes late to the launch ceremony for “Originated From the Himalayas,” causing the rest of the cast to proceed with photos without him.
His repeated lateness at public events, combined with the lack of an apology, has drawn disappointment from some observers.
