A New Woman Just Joined The “Running Man” Cast Permanently, Who Is She?
Ji Ye Eun has joined “Running Man” as a new addition to the cast!
On December 23, PD Choi Hyung In of SBS’s popular variety show “Running Man” spoke to OSEN in a phone interview about Ji Ye Eun’s recent confirmation as a new regular cast member.
When asked why Ji Ye Eun, who had already been appearing on the show, was officially made a permanent member, PD Choi explained, “We didn’t explicitly label her as an ‘official member’ in the captions. It happened naturally. Many people have been curious, asking in comments whether Ji Ye Eun is a regular member or not. You can see her as a member now since she’ll be with us for the long term.”
Ji Ye Eun’s addition comes a year after Jeon So Min departed from “Running Man” following her final appearance in November last year. After Jeon So Min’s exit, Song Ji Hyo had been the sole female cast member until Ji Ye Eun joined as a regular member.
Ji Ye Eun has already made a significant impression with her contributions to the show this year, and her chemistry with the other members has garnered anticipation. PD Choi expressed his confidence, saying, “Ji Ye Eun gets along really well with all the members. Whether it’s Haha, Ji Suk Jin, or Yang Se Chan, the synergy is great. I think it will also be fun to see her interactions with Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo.”
In addition to Ji Ye Eun’s confirmation as a regular member, attention has also turned to Kang Hoon, who has been active as a “guest member.” Regarding this, PD Choi clarified, “The rental member system was created for guests who can’t commit to being regulars due to their busy schedules. Whenever they’re available, they’re treated like family and can join us. Ji Ye Eun joining as a regular member doesn’t mean the rental system is over. If there are others we’d like to have on the show, we’ll continue to invite them through this system.”
He added, “For Kang Hoon, we’re always open to him joining us whenever his schedule allows. Once his projects wrap up, it’d be great if he could appear more often, which is why he started as a rental member.”
