Famous Korean Comedian Denies Ties To Gangs And Receiving Expensive Gifts, How Did Such Rumors Start?
Comedian Jo Se Ho became embroiled in baseless rumors, and his agency stated that the claims are groundless.
On the 4th of November, a representative from Jo Se Ho’s agency A2Z Entertainment told this outlet that regarding the suspicions related to Jo Se Ho and his acquaintance A that recently spread rapidly through online communities, “We have checked the current situation, and Jo Se Ho and A are only acquaintances. The content claiming he received gifts and such is groundless,” drawing a clear line.
Earlier, netizen B of the revelation post uploaded a photo of Jo Se Ho with a man and claimed that the man in the photo is a key figure of an organized crime group operating various illegal gambling sites.
The writer then raised suspicion that Jo Se Ho promoted a franchise that this man effectively owns and received expensive gifts.
The agency said, “We are actively reviewing criminal and civil legal action against the informant for crimes such as defamation by stating false information and obstruction of business.”
Jo Se Ho debuted in 2001 as the 6th generation public recruitment comedian of SBS and is appearing in various entertainment programs such as KBS 2TV “2 Days & 1 Night Season 4” and tvN “You Quiz on the Block.” He married his girlfriend who is 9 years younger last year.
