Famous Comedian Disowns Adoptive Daughter From Previous Marriage Ahead Of His Upcoming Marriage Following Lengthy Legal Disputes
The daughter of broadcaster Kim Byungman’s ex-wife has been legally disowned. With this, Kim Byungman has concluded the legal dispute with his ex-wife’s daughter ahead of his remarriage.
On the 8th of August, the Seoul Family Court ruled in favor of Kim Byungman’s petition to disown B, the daughter of his ex-wife.
On that day, a representative from Kim Byungman’s agency Sky Turtle told Spotv News, “At 2 PM today at the Seoul Family Court, regarding the previous assault accusation, the court recognized acts of false accusation and immoral behavior, leading to the acceptance of the disownment.”
Kim Byungman married A in 2010 and adopted B, A’s daughter from a previous marriage, as his legal child. Afterwards, Kim Byungman and A separated in 2019 and completed their divorce after intense legal battles that reached the Supreme Court ruling in 2023. Even after the divorce, the legal parent-child relationship between Kim Byungman and B was maintained.
Previously, during the divorce process, A claimed that Kim Byungman assaulted her and filed a lawsuit, but it was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for no indictment.
A representative from Kim Byungman’s side explained, “During this process, B initially said Kim Byungman was a good father but then changed her statement, saying she saw A being assaulted. A previous request for disownment was rejected, but this time the court took this point into account.”
Meanwhile, Kim Byungman is scheduled to remarry on September 20. He acknowledged that his new spouse has two children. He plans to reveal his family on TV Chosun’s ‘Lover of Joseon,’ airing this month.
