Sibling duo AKMU has officially announced their new agency, named Fountain of Inspiration!

On the 20th of January, AKMU shared via the fan platform Weverse: “Following the end of our exclusive contract with YG Entertainment, we will be moving to a new agency, Fountain of Inspiration.” The transfer is set to take effect on the 27th.

Previously, on December 21 of last year, YG Entertainment announced the conclusion of AKMU’s 12-year contract. At the time, YG stated, “AKMU’s only concern was whether to continue with YG, with whom they’ve shared the past 12 years, or to take on a new challenge independently. Producer Yang Hyun Suk encouraged the members, saying that stepping out into a new environment could be a valuable experience, and expressed his intention to support them behind the scenes.”

AKMU member Lee Su Hyun expressed gratitude, saying, “We sincerely thank all the YG staff who have worked with us for 12 years and have always trusted and respected us.” Lee Chan Hyuk added, “Goodbye, YG (2013-2025). We owe a lot to you. Thank you for raising us.”

After leaving YG, AKMU shared that they had been undergoing rigorous training since January 1 in preparation for their new start. Reports indicate they will be establishing a one-person agency with their longtime manager.

The new agency name, Fountain of Inspiration, also references Lee Chan Hyuk’s past art exhibitions in 2023 and 2025, which shared the same name. At the time, he explained, “I’ll reveal the secret of where inspiration comes from. If you drink from the spring of inspiration at Lee Chan Hyuk’s Yeonggam’s Spring, ideas that never existed before will come to you.”
