Popular Singer’s Ex-Boyfriend Exposes Her For Alleged Mistreatment During And After They Dated
Producer and singer-songwriter Cloud (Go Hyeong-seok) sparked attention after revealing he had been mistreated by his ex-girlfriend, popular singer Baek Ye-rin.
This all started with Baek Ye-rin accusing “Love Next Door” OST of plagiarizing one of her songs. Initially, people took her side and Ha Sung Woong, who sang the song, distanced himself as he was only contacted to sing it. Later, the composer of the OST came out to defend himself and explain in details why they’re so different. This resulted in the singer receiving backlash for airing this publicly without discussing the situation with the composer first.
After that, Cloud’s agency, which previously worked extensively with Baek Ye-rin, said he’s suing her label for the unauthorized use of copyrighted material.
Later, On the 14th of October, Cloud posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, criticizing Baek Ye-rin’s former agency and revealing what he suffered when he was dating Baek Ye-rin and even after they broke up.
He said, “PLP (People Like People) is run by the staff of Blue Vinyl, the company I was signed to until February this year. During my time there, I continuously supported PLP artists beyond my role as a colleague, trying to mitigate disruptions caused by their emotional instability and impulsive behavior.”
Although Cloud did not explicitly name the PLP artist he was referring to, many music fans speculated that the artist in question was Baek Ye-rin.
He explained, “I was the only person in the company able to handle such issues, so the staff often relied on me to deal with unexpected situations. While one could argue these were my voluntary choices, I sacrificed a great deal of my personal life for this work.”
Cloud recalled, “During the release of my first full-length album, the artist claimed it was the source of her depression, leading to repeated disruptions. As a result, I abandoned all thoughts of my solo album, ceased personal work, and my private life and relationships shrank under invisible control.”
He also mentioned, “Even when I found a new partner, my life was still centered around Blue Vinyl. I neglected my girlfriend’s emotions and prioritized not disrupting the schedules and emotions of the company and its artists. Even after starting a new relationship, I had to stay in constant contact with the PLP artist and the staff from morning until night, which led to disrespectful messages from the artist, like ‘You’re going to marry me anyway,’ and ‘Are you going to keep seeing that girl?'”
Cloud continued, “I had previously requested that the PLP artist [referring to Baek Ye-rin] not wear the couple ring we had when we were dating, as it interfered with projects and performances. Despite this, they continued to wear it on stage, and official photos and social media posts featuring the ring caused harm to my current partner. It made me feel that my personal boundaries as a colleague were not being respected.”
He also revealed that he had confronted the PLP artist about these issues, but was met with abusive remarks such as, “Take care of your girlfriend if you want, but you hurt me, and that karma will come back to your girlfriend.” This led him to decide he could no longer maintain relationships with both his girlfriend and the company, prompting him to leave both the band and Blue Vinyl.
Cloud claimed that even after leaving, disruptions continued. When he moved studios, the PLP artist changed the security code, delaying his retrieval of equipment, and he was pressured to give up rights to unreleased music. He also accused the PLP artist of unfairly blaming him for the issues.
Cloud added, “Though I was once in a relationship with the PLP artist, we had long returned to a professional relationship. However, their ongoing disruptive behavior and verbal abuse made it impossible to maintain that relationship.”
He concluded, “During my time with Blue Vinyl, I sacrificed many things, including copyright shares, production fees, and my personal life, for the sake of the company and its artists. But I can no longer allow this to continue for the sake of my team, my partner, and myself.”
Cloud also announced his intention to take legal action, saying, “This lawsuit isn’t just about the unauthorized use of co-owned work. It stems from the ongoing harm my partner and I have suffered, and it’s a decision made to prevent further damage.”
Cloud and Baek Ye-rin reportedly started dating while working together on her first solo album “Frank” in 2015. Although Baek Ye-rin’s agency initially denied the dating rumors, many signs of their relationship were discovered on social media.
Cloud had been part of the four-member rock band The Volunteers with Baek Ye-rin, Johnny, and Kim Chi-heon but announced his departure from the band in March.
At the time, Cloud stated on Instagram, “My contract with Blue Vinyl has ended, and I have left The Volunteers. It was the best choice I could make as there were situations where important people were being hurt.”
Baek Ye-rin has yet to respond to the accusations by Cloud.
