Another Famous Korean Celebrity Gets Into Trouble For Wearing Red, He Issues An Apology And Denies Any Political Affiliation
Rapper Beenzino has found himself in trouble over sharing new photos of himself wearing red.
On May 29, the famous rapper shared several photos to his Instagram account sporting various red-colored items and captioned it with, “World BuREDgundy Day.”
Today marks the 1st day of early voting in the 21st presidential election in Korea and the color red is currently being associated with the conservative party. This led to some backlash against the rapper as some accused him of showing his political affiliation via his Instagram post.
Beenzino ended up deleting the post and uploading an apology to his stories. He apologized to fans and explained he didn’t mean to show a political affiliation with his post and was merely sharing happy moments from his day.
His apology:
I sincerely apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable because of the post I uploaded today.
There was absolutely no political intention behind it. I simply wanted to share a peaceful day I recently spent with my family and some moments in the studio that I felt good about this morning.
However, I now realize that posting it during the early voting period may have led to misunderstandings, and I admit I wasn’t careful enough about the timing.
I’ve always valued healthy communication with fans from all walks of life.
That’s why I personally feel disappointed about today’s post and acknowledge it was lacking in consideration.
The post has since been deleted, and I will make sure to be more thoughtful with every word and action moving forward.
