BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has apologized following controversy over the group’s treatment of fans.

On August 14th, Lisa posted a lengthy message to fandom BLINK through a fan communication platform.

She wrote, “Hello BLINK. I hope everyone is having a good summer despite the heat,” adding, “First of all, it’s already been almost a week since our 10th anniversary. As you all know, there’s been a lot of talk going around online.”

She continued, “That situation makes me really sad, and I’m truly sorry about how things played out. I can’t even imagine how upset you all must have been, because I felt that way too.”

However, Lisa stressed, “I’m not writing this to justify anything or defend my position. I just want to cherish the love and bond we’ve shared together,” adding, “I’m truly grateful that we were able to be together.”

Earlier, BLACKPINK held a fan meeting at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the 8th to mark their 10th debut anniversary. However, the event drew controversy after it was announced just two days in advance and only 40 fans were able to attend.
