Famous Idol-Actress Opens Up About Postponing Marriage To Her Fiance Due To Controversy Surrounding His Work
Hani from the group EXID has opened up about her feelings after postponing her wedding with her publicly known boyfriend, psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong.
On the June 7 episode of the MBN variety program Oh Eun Young’s Stay, Hani appeared as one of the participants.
She drew attention by participating under her real name, Ahn Hee Yeon. Yoo Se Yoon commented, “It’s my first time seeing her like this. She has no makeup on at all.”
Explaining why she joined the temple stay, Hani said, “I’ve been working as a celebrity, but since I started at such a young age, when my contract ended, I realized how little I knew about the world. I lived like a frog in a well.”
As she began to open up during her session with Dr. Oh Eun Young, Hani said, “I tend to be very conscious of others, and now I want to stop that.”
She added, “It’s hard always being cautious, but I think I was in an environment where I had to be. Recently, I’ve gone through various experiences that made me realize that ‘my life doesn’t go the way I want.’” She shared her honest thoughts about postponing her wedding with Yang Jae Woong.
The couple originally planned to get married in September 2024. However, in May that year, a controversy arose when a patient at Yang Jae Woong’s clinic passed away after 17 days of hospitalization. Due to the incident, they decided to delay the wedding.
Hani said, “I came to realize that I can’t always choose what happens to me. As that thought settled in, my desire to control my life gradually faded. And I began to wonder, is it okay to live like this?”
In the preview, Hani further revealed her inner struggles: “For the first time, I felt deep depression and thought, ‘I can’t keep living like this.’ It’s overwhelming. I wanted to run away. People around me kept asking why I would deliberately choose a thorny path.”
