How Did The NCT Members Reacted To Mark’s Departure? Several Pen Statements To Fans
After the shocking news of Mark Lee’s departure from not only NCT but SM, his fellow former group members had this to say!
On April 3, SM announced the conclusion of Mark’s contract and his activities with various NCT units. They said, “MARK will conclude all activities as a member of NCT, including NCT 127 and NCT DREAM.”
At the same time, Mark took to his Instagram to write to fans about the news of his departure. In the comments of his posts, several of his former NCT members including those from NCT DREAM and NCT 127 left encouraging comments. Jaemin shared, “baby, don’t be sad. I’ll make it up for you. Love you,” Haechan and Chenle also wrote sweet comments while Jeno said, “our leader brother.”
Doyoung took to social media to pen a heartfelt post to fans, he wrote, “I decided to understand all of the feelings of my beloved Mark. I cannot speak on behalf of Mark, but I would be truly grateful if you could listen to his long-held sincerity and concerns without prejudice. He was a friend I loved more than anyone, and he is still a friend I love just the same, so we talked and shared for a long time. There are stories and feelings we shared along the way, but rather than bringing everything out now that a conclusion has been reached, I think it is better to express our feelings in a way that fits the current situation.”
Doyoung added,“For the time being, you may not be able to see NCT 127 with Mark, but if a moment comes when we can be together again, even if uncertain, we will prepare and plan hard for it. NCT 127 moving forward will not be NCT 127 missing someone, but as we promised to Czennies, no matter what form NCT 127 takes, we will remain a team that is proud and confident, and one that never puts on an unworthy stage. Lastly, there is one thing I want to say firmly. If suspicions or speculation arise about Mark and the members, I think I will be overwhelmed with unbearable sadness and unfairness. Please allow us to preserve the beauty we have built together with fans over more than 10 years.”
Jisung took to Bubble to write, “Originally, I was going to turn on a live today and talk a bit with Czennies, but at a time like now when things can be sensitive and difficult, I was worried that what I want to say might get distorted if spoken, so I came to you through writing.…. Last week, we held our final concert as seven members. Honestly, from when we were practicing in the practice room, I secretly shed some tears, and having Czennies in front of me made me even more immersed. When we sang “Our Season,” a lot of things came to mind. I think the reason our song lyrics are special is that while they are messages to Czennies, they are also messages to our Dream and to myself. Especially, the songs we heard at the concert felt different than usual. Even when it wasn’t my part, I sang along continuously, cherishing every single moment, and I tried to remember everything I could see— the lights, the stage setups, Czennies, and our members.”
