DAY6’s agency has announced they will offer refunds as compensation after excessive personal information was requested from fans attending their fan meeting, in a 2nd statement and apology released to fans!

Previously, JYP came under fire after several fans complained of excessive identity verification processing at DAY6’s concert. Initially, JYP issued a statement and apologized to the fans. However, the issue didn’t die down easily as many talked about how they were afraid that the excessive processing might lead to their personal information being leaked because of the way the company responsible for verifying the method conducted the verification.

On the 23rd of July, JYP Entertainment issued a 2nd apology on their official website stating, “We sincerely apologize to the attendees of the DAY6 4TH FANMEETING ‘PIER 10: All My Days’ who experienced inconvenience due to excessive identity verification procedures upon entry.”

The agency clarified that refunds would be issued to “those who booked tickets for the first week (sessions 1 to 3) of the DAY6 fan meeting and were denied entry due to excessive on-site identity checks, even though they were the original purchaser.” They added that only tickets that were not scanned at the venue will be eligible for verification and refund processing.

However, tickets that were confirmed and scanned after it was verified that the person was not the original purchaser are not eligible for refunds.

The refund will include the full ticket price and delivery fees.

The agency added, “We once again deeply apologize to everyone affected by the fan meeting’s operational policies. We acknowledge the seriousness of this issue and promise to improve our procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.”
