Kep1er’s Yujin’s agency has come under fire after the idol was spotted wearing a controversial shirt!

Recently, Kep1er’s Yujin was spotted wearing a shirt designed with a bedazzled text of “Allah,” the God in Islam, and an image of “Kaaba,” the most sacred site in Islam. This sparked backlash as many Muslim fans protested the idol wearing their religion as an aesthetic, and many said it was disrespectful towards both Islam and Muslims.

In response to the controversy, both the idol and the agency ended up issuing an apology to official SNS channels. Read their apology below!

Hello, this is Klap Entertainment.
Recently, we confirmed that a design in Kep1er member Yujin’s outfit contained religious symbolism. As a result, we have taken steps to delete all photos related to the outfit.
We should have reviewed the design to ensure it did not carry any religious connotations prior to its use. We sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable due to our ignorance and shortcomings.
As Kep1er is a group beloved not only in Korea but also globally, we will exercise greater caution to prevent such incidents from happening again in the future.
Once again, we extend our deepest apologies.

Additionally, the company that designed the shirt also issued apology saying, “We will be doing everything we can to ensure that our future creations are thoughtful, respectful, and considerate of the diverse communities we aim to serve.”
