JYP Concludes Contract Dispute With Former VCHA Member KG, Contract Concluded, Parting Confirmed
JYP Entertainment announced on the 8th of August that KG, a member of the global girl group VCHA, has ended her contract.
JYP Entertainment stated, “JYP America and KG Crown have mutually agreed to conclude the existing contract as a member of VCHA. Both parties have also agreed to support each other’s futures. Thank you.”
VCHA was formed through the mega project “A2K” (America2Korea), a collaboration between JYP and Republic Records, the No. 1 label in the U.S. selected by Billboard under Universal Music Group.
Previously, former member KG, who revealed she’ll be initiating legal action to terminate her contract due to mistreatment and abuse by certain staff members at the company.
In the statement, she also alleges that a member attempted suicide due to the poor working conditions, among many other shocking details that she alleges in the court document. JYP USA denied the claims in a statement at the time.
Then, earlier this year, the agency released a statement to announce that Kaylee had left the group causing even more confusion among fans.
VCHA was formed through the survival audition program A2K, a joint project between JYP Entertainment and Universal Music Group’s Republic Records. The group debuted in January 2024 with “Girls of the Year” and later released songs like “Only One.”
As of today, the group is now comprised of 4-members including Camila, Kendall, Lexi, and Savanna.
JYP Entertainment is rebranding VCHA as “GIRLSET.” On the 7th of August, JYP revealed the “GIRLSET” film and logo design on its official SNS channels and announced the rebranding launch. Lexi, Camila, Kendall, and Savannah will target the global music market in earnest under the new name “GIRLSET” and embark on a new leap forward.
