MC Mong Faces Prostitution Allegations, Strongly Denies The Rumors And Explains The CCTV Footage
Singer and producer MC Mong (real name Shin Dong Hyun) strongly denied prostitution allegations.
On the 5th of February, MC Mong told Ilgan Sports, “It is not prostitution,” and tearfully appealed his unfairness, saying, “One of them is my girlfriend. Who prostitutes their girlfriend?”
The allegation was previously raised through claims from the Sunday Sisa YouTube channel, which were introduced on the TV Chosun program “Shintongbangtong” that aired on the 4th.
The video revealed on the broadcast was apartment elevator CCTV footage, and it was reported that the management office confirmed and released it for investigation after residents living in the same apartment as MC Mong recently filed complaints saying, “It seems there is prostitution in our apartment.”
The footage showed three women and one man riding the elevator together, and claims were raised that the man in the video was an acquaintance of MC Mong and that the women were hostesses.
MC Mong explained, “The man is a younger acquaintance of mine, and among the three women, one is my girlfriend, another is my girlfriend’s acquaintance, and the remaining one is someone I met for the first time at that gathering,” he explained.
He added, “After spending about 2 to 3 hours together, I suddenly began talking with Chairman Cha Ga Won about related matters as I decided to leave the company (One Hundred), and the friends left the gathering for us, which is everything that happened at the time,” he explained.
MC Mong raised his voice, saying, “I do not know what kind of work those friends did in the past. But is it right to even bring up prostitution allegations and talk about my girlfriend like that?” and added, “Isn’t reporting such suspicions itself malicious?”
MC Mong further explained to the media outlet that it was “a day when I had a meal with acquaintances and had a wine party.” When asked about claims that “some were women working at entertainment establishments,” he responded, “Working at a bar does not mean prostitution.”
The timing of the video was said to be before MC Mong stepped down from his position as co-CEO of One Hundred last year, and claims were also raised that this incident became the background for his resignation.
MC Mong has recently been at the center of attention due to various controversies. During his time serving as co-CEO of One Hundred, he has also faced allegations such as an affair scandal involving Chairman Cha Ga Won. Regarding this, MC Mong has strongly denied the allegations.
