NCT Jaehyun’s String Of Bad Luck With Dramas Continue, Upcoming Drama Reportedly In Financial Trouble
The production of the drama “Do You Trust Her?”, which features popular NCT member and actor Jaehyun in the lead role, has come to a halt.
According to YTN’s report recently, the new drama “Do You Trust Her?”, produced by Maze Entertainment, suspended filming in June due to investment issues. This came just three months after filming began in April, following the completion of the pre-production phase.
The drama is a black comedy that explores the growth of an underdog standing up against the powerful. Jaehyun was cast as the male lead, marking his drama debut, alongside other actors like Lee Chae Min, Kim Sun Young, and Park Sung Woong.
The production was reportedly delayed due to a setback with the investment. Although filming started with the expectation that the investment deal would be finalized later, the company that initially promised to invest backed out, leaving the production unable to cover the filming costs, resulting in the suspension of ongoing shoots.
The production company has since reportedly been trying to secure new investors, but even after five months, they have not finalized any new deals. Additionally, they have yet to pay the actors’ guarantees and the staff’s wages, increasing the likelihood of legal disputes.
A representative from the production company told YTN, “We are doing our best to resolve the situation by securing a new investor, and we take full responsibility for the unpaid actor guarantees and staff wages, which we will ensure are paid in full.”
With Jaehyun’s pending enlistment, many fans are sad that they won’t get to see him in a drama soon.
