BREAKING: Seunghan Confirms His Withdrawal From RIIZE
Seunghan has left RIIZE!
On the 13th of October, Seunghan left a handwritten letter on the fan communication platform Weverse. In the letter, he announced his departure from RIIZE and expressed his apologies to the members and fans (Briize – the official fan club).
Seunghan began by saying, “I know that many people are thinking seriously about my return to activities, and I also recognize the seriousness of the current situation.” He continued, “As I reflected on whether I had only been thinking about myself up to this point, whether I was causing too much harm to the members and the company, and whether it was really okay for me to be part of the team that deserves to be loved, I realized that I was only filled with worry and guilt.”
He added, “That’s why I think leaving the team is the best path for everyone. I don’t want to cause any more confusion or hurt to the fans, nor do I want to cause any more harm to the members or the company,” explaining the reason for his decision to leave.
He also expressed his gratitude to SM Entertainment and the RIIZE members by saying, “I want to thank the company and the members for their efforts in trying to give me another chance.” To the fans, he said, “I am deeply sorry and grateful to those who have supported me despite my shortcomings.”
Addressing the division among fans caused by his potential return, Seunghan said, “I really don’t want the relationship between RIIZE and Briize, who have been supporting each other and growing together, to deteriorate because of me. It breaks my heart that fans who love RIIZE are fighting because of me.”
In closing, he said, “I sincerely hope that RIIZE, whom I love, will continue to receive even more love, and I will wholeheartedly support them moving forward.”
On the 11th, SM Entertainment issued an official statement announcing his return to the group, saying, “Seunghan has acknowledged that his past actions were wrong and took nearly a year off from activities. After thorough discussions, we concluded that the next chapter of RIIZE, which we had meticulously planned since before debut, will be most meaningful with all seven members together, and thus we decided on Seunghan’s return to the team.”
He later posted a handwritten letter on the fan communication platform Weverse. In the letter, he expressed regret, stating, “When the pre-debut photos were revealed, I was disappointed in myself and felt regret. During that time, the members reached out to me again. It must have been a difficult decision for them, and I’m only filled with gratitude and guilt.”
