SHINee‘s member Key, who admitted that he had received at-home medical treatment until recently from a woman known as “Injection Aunt,” has decided to suspend all activities. He will also step down as an MC for the MBC Entertainment Awards and the many variety shows he’s been a part of for a while.

On the 17th of December, MBC stated, “As Key, who was scheduled to appear as an MC for the ‘2025 MBC Entertainment Awards,’ has expressed his intention to suspend activities, the production team has respected his decision and finalized plans to proceed with the ceremony under a two-MC system with Jun Hyun Moo and Jang Do Yeon.”

He is also stepping down one after another from programs in which he appears as a regular cast member, including MBC’s “I Live Alone” and tvN’s “Amazing Saturday.” The “I Live Alone” production team said, “From upcoming recordings onward, Key will not be participating,” while the “Amazing Saturday” team stated, “We respect Key’s decision to suspend broadcasting activities, and he will not participate in recordings going forward.”

The YouTube content “Closet Thief Reboot” which was first released on the 21st of last month, has also been forced to end. The production team announced, “‘Closet Thief Reboot’ will stop future uploads. After comprehensively considering the cast member’s position and the surrounding circumstances, the production team has decided to wrap up the content. We sincerely thank subscribers who have cherished and supported the content, and we ask for your generous understanding regarding this sudden news.”

When allegations surfaced that Park Na Rae verbally abused her managers and made excessive, unreasonable demands beyond common sense, Dispatch reported that Park Na Rae had received various drug injections and IV drips from a non-medical individual, Ms. Lee, who does not hold a medical license.

Based on Ms. Lee’s KakaoTalk conversations, the core of the report was that illegal medical practices took place, including handling prescription-only drugs, collecting prescriptions, and delivering medication via door-handle service. Park Na Rae’s side explained that they believed Ms. Lee was a doctor and that only nutritional injections were administered, but controversy persisted as suspicions arose that Ms. Lee did not possess a medical license.

After the report was released, demands poured in for SHINee’s Key to clarify his position as well, because Ms. Lee had repeatedly posted on Instagram, flaunting her long-standing acquaintance with Key. However, Key remained silent, citing his U.S. tour schedule for “2025 KEYLAND: Uncanny Valley,” which ran through the 15th.

On the 17th of December, 11 days after the report, SM Entertainment revealed that Key met Ms. Lee through an acquaintance and received treatment from her at a hospital located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, as well as at his own home. They stated that only after the Park Na Rae issue grew did he first become aware that Ms. Lee was not a doctor, adding that he is “deeply reflecting on his own ignorance” and announcing that he would step down from all programs he was appearing on.

Key himself also apologized through his Instagram as well.
