Singer Taeyeon‘s Japan concert has ultimately been canceled.

On the 29th of April, agency SM Entertainment announced through its official channels, “We inform those who purchased tickets for the ‘TAEYEON CONCERT – THE TENSE IN JAPAN’ Ariake concert in Tokyo, which was scheduled to be held on the 19th and 20th. We explored various ways to hold a replacement concert, but we were unable to find a venue that could accommodate the audience and support stage production, so we have decided not to proceed with the Tokyo concert.”

SM stated, “We sincerely regret having to deliver this news to the fans who had been waiting for the concert, and we ask for your understanding for the delayed notice as we carefully reviewed all possible options.”

Purchased tickets will be fully refunded, and details can be checked through the ‘My Page’ section and email at each ticketing site.

The Tokyo concert had been scheduled as part of Taeyeon’s Asia tour commemorating her 10th solo debut anniversary, but it was suddenly suspended on the 17th, two days before, due to equipment transport delays. At the time, SM stated, “The equipment used for the Asia tour could not be transported to Japan, making it impossible to prepare for the concert.”

Through her fan communication platform, Taeyeon shared, “I hate this situation so much and feel sorry to SONE. It feels like my concert, which was created from everyone’s efforts and anticipation, disappeared in an instant,” expressing her complicated emotions. She added, “I don’t know how to explain this feeling of emptiness and helplessness.”

Taeyeon also personally shared on social media the full text of the statement released by the global fan union, which demanded feedback and compensation regarding the Tokyo concert cancellation, thereby amplifying the fans’ voices.
