Prosecution Indictment Allegedly Reveals WINNER’s Song Mino Was Absent for Over 100 Days During Military Service

WINNER’s Song Mino’s alleged negligent military service circumstances have been revealed in greater detail.

According to JoongAng Ilbo, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office identified the number of unauthorized absence days in relation to allegations that Song Mino neglected his duties while serving as a public service worker at a Mapo-gu resident convenience facility and other locations.

The indictment states that the total period of unauthorized absence amounts to 102 days. Song Mino served as a public service worker for one year and nine months as an alternative to active military duty. However, out of approximately 430 required working days, he was absent for 102 days.

It is reported that the number of unauthorized absences increased as his discharge date approached. In July 2024, during the rainy season, he reportedly attended work normally for only four days and did not report to his assigned workplace for a total of 19 days.

Prosecutors believe that Mr. A, who was responsible for managing service duties, granted special treatment only to Song Mino. It was investigated that documents were prepared and approved as if he had attended work even when he had not.

In December of last year, Song Mino was indicted without detention on charges of violating the Military Service Act. The first trial hearing had been scheduled for the 24th, but the court accepted a request from Song Mino’s side to postpone it.

The confirmed trial date is April 21. The case regarding Song Mino’s alleged violation of the Military Service Act will be handled by Criminal Division 10 of the Seoul Western District Court (Judge Sung Joon Kyu), where the first legal judgment will be made.

Meanwhile, Song Mino became embroiled in allegations of negligent service as a public service worker in 2024. According to reporting by Dispatch, he reportedly did not attend work while repeatedly using leave.
