Stray Kids’ Lee Know To Become The Group’s First Member To Enlist In The Military
Stray Kids‘ Lee Know will fulfill his military service in the first quarter of next year, becoming the first member of the group to enlist.
On November 5, the group’s agency JYP Entertainment announced on its official social media, “Lee Know is scheduled to fulfill his military service in the first quarter of 2027.” It added, “Because of this, he may not take part in some schedules planned for the first quarter of next year, but he will meet STAY (the fandom name) through various content and individual activities before his enlistment.”
The agency asked for fans’ understanding, saying, “We ask for the broad understanding of STAY, who may be surprised by this sudden announcement. We will announce details that are difficult to share at this time in a separate notice later.” The exact enlistment date and form of service were not revealed.
Lee Know, born in 1998, is 28 this year by international age. In August, at the press conference for his group’s mini album “THIS & THAT,” he said, “I think the duty of national defense is a given. If I am called, I will faithfully fulfill my duty. What is certain is that even after the military hiatus, we will gather again.”
Stray Kids, which debuted in 2018, has become a global boy group with many hits including “God’s Menu,” “Back Door,” “Thunderous,” “MANIAC,” “S-Class,” and “Chk Chk Boom.” The group set a record by topping the Billboard 200 for 9 consecutive times, becoming the group with the most No. 1 albums on the chart in the 21st century. Lee Know, the group’s main dancer, will carry out various activities before his enlistment.
