Ten Shares Thoughts Following Departure From SM Entertainment

Ten, a member of groups NCT and WayV, has shared his thoughts on concluding his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment.

On the 6th of April, Ten posted a lengthy message on his Instagram Story, expressing his position directly to fans in Korean, English, and Thai.

He stated, “I really thought a lot about how to start this message. I wondered if there was a better way to convey this, but unfortunately, I ended up sharing it through a written post, and I feel regretful and sorry.”

He also shared his future plans, saying, “I plan to continue spending time with you all as Ten of NCT and WayV,” while adding, “At the same time, I’m going to begin new challenges as a solo artist.”

Ten explained, “As time passed and I reached the age of 30, I began to ask myself questions like ‘What kind of person do I want to live as from now on?’ and ‘What kind of music and image do I want to show?’ After those reflections, I developed a desire to try new challenges in a new environment.”

He further added, “After many conversations with the members and SM staff, we decided to conclude the exclusive contract. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I will take responsibility and do my best so that I won’t have regrets.”

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to fans: “I left Thailand at a young age and came to Korea, and there were many frightening moments, but because of the fans who always stood by my side, I am who I am today. Even though I don’t know what kind of image I’ll present in the future, I’d like to walk that path together with you.”

Finally, he concluded the message by asking, “Will you continue to be with me?” and said, “I’ll come back to you with an even better image without change. Thank you and I love you.”
