THE BOYZ Announce New Chapter With Brand New Music Label
The group THE BOYZ, whose activities were put on hold following the termination of their exclusive contract with their former agency, are signaling a new direction alongside a new music label.
On September 14th, 78 RECORDS announced it had completed its corporate establishment and revealed it will be exclusively handling the group activities of THE BOYZ members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric. 78 RECORDS stated, “We will provide full support for THE BOYZ’s group activities so that the members’ intentions and direction can shine even brighter, and we will maintain close cooperation going forward.”
78 RECORDS is a label founded by industry experts who built their experience in artist scouting, development, and overall music and content production at major entertainment companies, including Kakao Entertainment.
The label will be led by co-CEOs who have been with THE BOYZ for over a decade, from their casting stage through their debut and major activities since, having guided the group through its growth and peak. They plan to run the label drawing on their experience shaping key turning points for the team, including their win on Mnet’s “Road to Kingdom” and runner-up finish on “Kingdom: Legendary War,” along with their deep understanding of the artists.
A representative from 78 RECORDS said, “Having been with THE BOYZ for such a long time, we understand well the values the members hold dear and the direction they want to move toward.” They added, “Above all, we understand the hearts of THE B, who trusted and waited for THE BOYZ and stood by them unwaveringly.” They continued, “We will communicate closely with the members to show, through good music, stages, and content, that all that waiting and support was never in vain, and we will provide steady support so that THE BOYZ and THE B can create even more moments together going forward.”
78 RECORDS added that, starting with stably supporting THE BOYZ’s group activities, it plans to prepare a new journey together with THE BOYZ and THE B, moving forward step by step with an official label launch and the discovery of new artists.
