Rumors Of T.O.P Rejoining BIGBANG Go Viral, T.O.P’s Side Has This To Say
Actor Choi Seung Hyun, also known as T.O.P, has been rumored to be rejoining BIGBANG, however, it has been confirmed that its not happening!
On the 11th of February, a representative from T.O.P’s side told Star News, “The claim that T.O.P recently added his name back to his official account is not true. His name has always been there. T.O.P has not changed his mind about returning to BIGBANG. His stance remains the same as he mentioned in previous interviews.”
It was emphasized that T.O.P still doesn’t contact the members and feels sorry toward them. His position on leaving the group has not changed.
Recently, an online community post claimed that T.O.P’s name had been newly added to BIGBANG’s official YouTube channel. Currently, BIGBANG consists of three active members—G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. With T.O.P’s name appearing, speculation arose that he might be rejoining the group. Additionally, T.O.P changed his profile picture on his personal account and was rumored to have added his BIGBANG stage name, T.O.P, back to his profile. However, it was confirmed that this claim is false.
Last month, T.O.P gave an interview for “Squid Game 2,” his first in 11 years. He spoke as both actor Choi Seung Hyun and T.O.P of BIGBANG, revealing his thoughts about his departure from the group.
In the interview, T.O.P shared, “As a person, I caused significant damage to BIGBANG and my former agency, YG Entertainment, with my mistakes. For years, I told the agency and members that I couldn’t bring myself to cause any more harm and expressed my desire to leave the team. If I worked on my own, I could take full responsibility for any backlash and criticism. But if I rejoined the group, my mistakes would follow the members, which was unbearable for me. I made the decision to leave a long time ago.”
Currently, BIGBANG continues as a trio with G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Some fans hope for T.O.P’s return, but when asked if he would reconsider, T.O.P responded, “I’ll say it once again—I feel too ashamed. It’s been so long since I made that decision, and I’ve never once changed my mind.”
