Korean Rapper Caught In Affair Allegations Just 5 Days After His Wedding, Agency Responds With Legal Action, Calling It A Malicious Setup

Rapper Yang Hong Won has been caught up in affair allegations just 5 days after his wedding, but his agency has taken strong legal action, calling the claims “groundless.”

On October 23, Yang Hong Won’s agency AP Alchemy released a statement on its official social media, saying, “The accuser’s claims are not true, and the materials presented by the accuser are the result of malicious editing.” The agency continued, “The accuser threatened the artist and the woman involved in order to extort money, and when that did not go as planned, made an exposé based on false information.”

The agency said it has filed a complaint against the accuser, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of extortion, violation of the Stalking Punishment Act, and defamation through the spreading of false information.

It also explained the situation in detail. According to the agency, Yang Hong Won was drinking at Mr. A’s home, whom he met after a performance, when he was asked to leave by Mr. A. The agency acknowledged that the intoxicated Yang Hong Won and the woman, who had nowhere to go, did go to the motel designated by Mr. A, but claimed there was no affection of any kind in the room. It added that Yang Hong Won fell asleep right after entering, and that when the woman tried to wake him, she felt uncomfortable about possible physical contact, so she called Mr. A and the two went home together.

The agency also pointed out that “when his demands for money were not met, Mr. A stitched together conversations and phone calls to make the exposé,” stressing that it has obtained tips from acquaintances that can prove it was a planned fabrication and will respond sternly. It also said that it has not paid any money in response to Mr. A’s demands.

Previously, Mr. A had raised affair allegations through social media and live broadcasts, claiming that Yang Hong Won went to a motel with a woman. However, controversy spread as Mr. A himself said that “the goal is attention and money,” and an acquaintance, Mr. B, who was present at the scene, also refuted the claims, saying, “It’s a setup to extort money.”

Amid this, it has also become a topic that Yang Hong Won and his wife Won Hyun Joo have unfollowed each other on social media.

Yang Hong Won gained recognition after winning Mnet’s “High School Rapper” in 2017 and has been active on shows such as “Show Me The Money.” After announcing the birth of his daughter in November 2024, he held his wedding with former model Won Hyun Joo on October 18.
