Cosmetic Brand Halts All Scheduled Activities For Its Model Kim Soo Hyun Amid Ongoing Allegations Against Him
Cosmetic brand Dinto has released a statement regarding its advertisement model, actor Kim Soo Hyun.
On March 11, Dinto’s CEO, Ahn Ji Hye, posted an update titled “Additional Statement on the Dinto Model Issue” on her personal account, starting with an apology: “First, I deeply apologize for this issue.”
Kim Soo Hyun is currently embroiled in controversy related to the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
On March 10, Kim Sae Ron’s family claimed through the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute that Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress had dated for six years, from when she was 15 until she was 21 (2015–2021). On March 11, text messages from Kim Sae Ron to Kim Soo Hyun and a photo of him receiving a cheek kiss from her were made public, sparking further debate.
Initially, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, denied the claims, calling them “blatantly false.” However, after the photo surfaced, they have not issued any additional statements.
Ahn Ji Hye had previously commented on her personal account, saying, “Regarding our model, I will trust and wait. Rather than being swayed by unconfirmed information, I will focus on what I can and must do.” This statement received criticism, prompting her to release a follow-up clarification.
She explained, “The previous post was written between the evening of March 10 and the early morning of March 11. I take full responsibility for the confusion and discomfort it caused. At that time, I believed it was necessary to monitor the situation rather than make premature judgments based on fragmented information.”
She continued, “On March 11, our entire company reviewed the facts and discussed our response. All planned schedules involving the model have been put on hold.”
Ahn Ji Hye further assured, “We will share our stance more carefully and responsibly moving forward to prevent similar concerns from arising again. A formal statement from the Dinto brand will be released tomorrow.”
