“Can This Love Be Translated?” Ending Explained

“Can This Love Be Translated?” released all of its episodes earlier today. Let us recap it and explain the plot twist and its ending!

“Can This Love Be Translated?” episode 12 recap

Hiro Kurosawa and Mu Hee see a cut of the movie and the producers assure them they aren’t bad people who would exploit their potential romance. That couple in the movie has a happy ending. Hiro Kurosawa does not object. He even shows off his Korean to Mu Hee.

They both have a discussion and Mu Hee apologizes for hitting on him and projecting the issues and dreams she had of a happy relationship onto him. He accepts her apology and they part ways amicably.

Ho-Jin meets with Ji-Sun on the train and admits to her he liked her a lot. She also says she liked him since the 2^nd time she saw him. The two discuss everything and let go of the past then part ways at the train station.

Writer Kim meets with Mu Hee’s adoptive parents and they confirm his suspicions, they say they didn’t want to be near her and were strict on her.

Ji-Sun meets with her friends and lies saying she’s dating a handsome young man. Yong-U shows up and she gets embarrassed. He takes her to the beach and proposes to her. He explains he’s leaving for the UK and doesn’t want to let go of her so they should get married. She rejects him but explains she wants to be with him and travel overseas together. The two share a hug.

At her doctor’s appointment, he asks who the Do Ra Mi is and if she’s a projection of something she knows. She finds this odd and tells Ho-Jin about it. On another day, while she’s shopping, Mu Hee stumbles on her aunt who cautions and says they spilled the beans about what happened to her in the past. Her uncle also met with Ho-Jin to tell him the same and they both explain that she’s already told him everything. She was afraid they’d kick her out.

We find out “Can This Love Be Translated?” plot twist. Mu Hee’s mom poisoned her dad and then came to poison her too. Mu Hee rejected it and jumped off the balcony. Someone saw her jump and reported it immediately to the police so the police came and managed to not only save Mu Hee’s life but both her parents’ lives. We find out both are alive.

And the uncle whom is staying away is in fact her dad. He asked his brother to look after her because he couldn’t bare to see her. Mu Hee then meets with her aunt and uncle and asks them to ask her dad, she wants to find out where her mother is and close that chapter of her life.

We also find out who Do Ra Mi is, Mu Hee looks like a spitting image of her mother. So, the Do Ra Mi torturing Mu Hee is in fact a reflection of her mother. Mu Hee passes out upon realizing this for three days.

When she wakes up, Ho-jin explains both of them are alive, she feels immensely betrayed.

We find out that Hiro Kurosawa is advancing to hollywood to try on a new challenge.

We then find out that Mu Hee probably found where her mother is and is tracking her down. She’s leaving and decides to actually break up with Ho-jin. Her reasoning, ‘I don’t want us to definitely break up, so lets break up right now!’ she tells him to raise hell when all of this is over and she comes back.

Some time later

Ji-Sun wrapped up the script. She and Yong-U are happily dating. Ho-jin’s mom cleared some of the books in the house but Ho-jin didn’t sell it.

On a snowy christmas day, he gets a message from her. She invites him to see the stars and even uses a translation app to translate her apologies to him. He kisses her. The two kiss repeatedly and resume their relationship.
