“Good Boy” Ending Explained

JTBC’s drama “Good Boy” has ended its run a couple of hours ago. Let us recap the final 16^th episode and explain the ending!

Yeon-Ha is talking to Ju-Young who says he’ll blow up the entire city that he built himself if things go South.

Yeon-Ha, in a separate meeting with Dong Ju, explains how volatile he can be. Ju-Young dispatches trucks that explode around the city causing chaos. Section Chief Song then dies after Ju-Young confronts him telling him to do what he asked of him, he says its beyond his scope of work and then Ju-Young kills him because of it.

Dong Ju faces against the commissioner of police asking him to do something about this and help them out. He says its true that Ju-Young has a lot of people under his rule and in cahoots with him.

While investigating the explosions, they find out one additional truck is missing. The team goes back to question Yeon-Ha who says he’ll likely try to escape Korea any way he can. She also mentions there could be a person who helps him because they genuinely love him. Turns out, one of the officers who used to work with him loves him dearly and is now missing. The team begins searching for her.

We also find out that because of Ju-Young shady dealings, the Japanese Yakuza is on his back and has a bounty on his head. Thus, every one of the team under him is now fending for themselves.

The team eventually catches Ju-Young’s lover Yuna and she tells them she was supposed to meet him at a hotel. She leads the team there but they can tell something is odd. They find out a shareholder meeting is taking place in regards to Ju-Young’s hotel, everyone is gathered there.

As they investigate whats happening, they find out there is possibly some explosions in the area. With Yeon-Ha’s help, they figure out that there is a poison he’s been using that if dissolved with water can be lethal. The gas dispenses and causes panic as the room in which the shareholders are closes. The team helps everybody out and manage to evacuate the place before things end pretty badly.

However, the people get stuck trying to escape from the garage but the commissioner of police shows up and saves them, thus, paying them back and saving the day.

After that entire ordeal, the team prepares for one final battle to bring Ju-Young down.

He escapes barely and they figure out how he’s planning on doing it. When he meets his lover at a port, he runs her over with a truck badly injuring her. But, he gets captured by the yakuza and beaten badly.

Dong Ju interferes and everyone on the team fights an opponent. After much struggle, each one defeats the person they’re up against including Dong Ju who manages to save Ju-Young from the thugs. Dong Ju then beats up Ju-Young pretty badly for what he’d done. However, Ju-Young tries to drown himself but Dong Ju saves him once again bringing an end to this. He gets arrested.

After this ordeal ends

Han Na finds out her mom’s dating and would like to be introduced to the man. She also reveals she’s dating Dong Ju. Dong Ju has been getting treatment for what happened to his hands and arms because of the recent events and he’s doing well.

Dong Ju even shows up to visit Ju-Young in jail taunting him about how he’s getting promoted. Ju-Young says its not over and he’ll be back citing the many people he helped, but Dong Ju tells him he’ll be there to fight them all.

At night, an unknown assailant sneaks into Ju-Young’s cell and kills him.

The team gets promoted and celebrated, and we find out that Man-Sik’s wife is pregnant because his vasectomy didn’t work 100%. The entire team is doing well and it ends happily.
