“Head Over Heels” Ending Explained
“Head Over Heels” has wrapped up its run, releasing the final episode earlier today. Let us recap the 12th episode and explain the ending!

Yeom Hwa connects the tie that was broken between her and Gyeon U. At this time, Gyeon U brings home Bong Su, and Ji Ho can tell because Bong Su gives him a kiss.
Jin-Woong returns from the military and the gang tries to make him leave but he sees Seong A. He then tells all the other kids to come and see her. They all are very happy she’s back and the ghost plays along. Bong Su even cries seeing this and experiencing it.
At night, Gyeon U tries to ask him to tell him when he can see Seong A. He lies to him and taunts him which deeply triggers him. He even gets into a heated argument with him. Later, to let off steam, he and Ji Ho play at the arcade and Ji Ho tells him to be an adult because Bong Su is only a child.
When he makes up with him, Bong Su asks him for a favor, to die in his place. He agrees.
He’s then transported into a dream where he runs into Seong A in her pretend classroom. She wants to leave so he doesn’t get the ghost but they have a conversation and check up on each other lying that either of them had been okay. As they exit the dream, Gyeon U touches her hair and welcomes her back. He tells her to focus on taking care of herself and he’d take care of the rest as he absorbs back Bong Su.
Ji Ho comes and discovers Seong A is back, he cooks them lunch and they eat together. Ji Ho then leaves breaking the apartment off his first love. After eating, Seong A sleeps because she’s so tired of the ghost.
Yeom Hwa comes and hands Seong A a letter she’ll read later. Both then go to the same place and she summons Gyeon U who says she should die with him, she agrees. Before that, she apologized to Gyeon U for what she’d done to him.
She then takes him and does a ritual to get rid of him but it would kill her too.
Flower Master discovers something is deeply wrong so he goes there with people and discovers what she’s trying to do. Seong A also wakes up and goes back to her home, she reads the letter and cries at the offerings begging for her powers to come back. Eventually, they return with her mother.
Together, they go there and help Flower Master who is very tired of this. They break their bond and escort Yeom Hwa outside. As Seong A talks to Bong Su, he asks her for one last hug because he felt so bad for what she had to do. She then asks for his name. We find out the ghost’s name is Jang Yoon Bo.
The team works together and manages to send Yoon Bo off after learning of his name.
Now that Gyeon U is ok, he asks Yeom Hwa as she leaves about her name. She refuses to give it to him saying he shouldn’t feel the burden to forgive her so soon.
In 2028
Gyeon U is competing to qualify for the Olympics. Seong A is supposed to come as soon as possible but she helps out various ghosts on her way and misses the match. Gyeon U catches her and tells her he won, they give each other kisses.
