KBS’s “Perfect Family” 2024 Ending Explained
KBS’s “Perfect Family” has ended its run a couple of hours ago, let us recap the 12th and final episode and explain the ending!

“Perfect Family” episode 12 recap
The episode begins with Sun-Hui pouring her parents seaweed soup, her hands are shaking and they eat it despite knowing its laced with something. Then, Hyun-Min shows up and says she’s done a good job.
We find out he had asked her to do this when he contacted her recently. He asks where the safe is and she tells him its location. He asks for the passcode and she says its her birthday. He inputs the wrong date several times, gets flustered and then begins drinking.
As he finally remembers her actual birth date, he opens the safe and sees the cash saying he can now be a good father. Sun-Hui is crying knowing he’s about to collapse, she poisoned him.
He collapses and begins having difficulty breathing. He dies.
Then, Sun-Hui tries to also end her life but her parents wake up and slap the mug out of her hands. The parents say they accept her as their child and they’re truly her family, they all hug it out.
Later, as police show up, they see the family is somehow all unconscious with Hyun-Min’s dead body.
3 years later
Hyun-Woo writes an email to Sun-Hui, he asks how she’s doing in Canada and updates her on her parents saying they’re doing fine but feel empty without her.
At her prison discharge, Soo-Yeon is greeted by Hyun-Woo and her unnie, they welcome her back. The trio has coffee together and Soo-Yeon admits to not knowing how to express her feelings towards Sun-Hui and how much she regrets that. She also says she misses her dearly. Hyun-Woo tells her she should say that when she meets her next time.
Shin Dong-Ho visits Sung-Woo’s grave and reminisces about their days together.
While the parents are in their home, they talk about when they adopted Sun-Hui. The mother feels her presence and both follow her outside, they call out for her name. She turns around. Turns out she has been in Seoul trying to convince herself she can see them one last time before she leaves as she doesn’t think she deserves to be their daughter.
They sit down for a conversation over dinner. Jin-Hyuk apologies for covering up what happened to Kyeong-Ho as Sun-Hui cries and asks if she can live as their daughter, they of course say yes and they hug it out again.
Sun-Hui writes her grandma a letter inviting her to take a family photo with them. The grandma reads the letter and laments on how she treated her son and the entire family asking her butler whether she should go.
At the studio, the grandma ends up showing up, Sun-Hui surprises her parents and the grandma says she wrote her a letter asking her to come. The grandma ends up apologizing for what she’d done to her son and to her daughter-in-law.
The family ends up taking a family picture.
On the dinner table, both Sun-Hui and Eun-Joo cook dinner and eat together as a family.
