“Made In Korea 2” Shocking Ending Explained- Did Kitae Die?

Madam Shin tries to cast a spell on Hwang Dae Sik but ultimately fails as Geon-Young interferes and stops a man who tried to bomb their meeting. And all of this was coordinated by Ki Tae. Geon-Young is this time ahead of Ki Tae and knows its a planned assassination.

Thus, he also ambushes him and while Ki Tae and his men wait for the secure vehicles to drive Hwang Dae Sik to a safe place, we find out that he wasn’t in the cars and that Ki Tae just shot his own brother, Ki Hyun.

He sees that Ki Hyun is badly injured and tries to stay and see if he’s ok but his men stop him and he escapes the police.

Cheon Seok-Jung is held and Madam Shin basically interferes with DaeSik to stop him from killing him. However, he’s threatened and ends up lying on TV saying everything was planned by Ki Tae. Witht his, Dae Sik plans on closing the investigation but Geon-Young tries to stop him. It does not work and Dae Sik even tells him men to kill Ki Tae.

Ki Tae calls Yu Ji asking for a boat and she obliges. Seeing how Seok Jung betrayed him, he goes back to the place. There, he sees Seok Jung took out all the gold and had been planning to run away, he says he had no choice but to betray him and that he can spend some years in jail and he’ll get him out. Ki Tae shoots his ears and leaves him a bit of cash as he coils in pain.

Then, he drops by his office and sees Hak-Su trying to open his safe, he gives him the combo for the safe and then shoots both his legs. He does not kill him but Hak-Su begs for his life.

Before escaping, he makes a stop at the hospital because he is told that his brother is in a bad condition. Geon-Young can tell he’d do this and goes to see the brother too. When they’re there, Ki Tae gets ambushed and even badly hurt, as he sees his brother is alive and well, and not badly injured. He’s shocked.

He ends up escaping and Geon-Young follows him. The two men stand on opposite ends and Geon-Young can tell Ki Tae is injured badly. Ki Tae asks if he’s truly making the world a better place by taking him down, Geon-Young says the world has now changed already and there is no place for him, he’s finished.

However, neither shoot at each other.

As Ki Tae heads back to his car badly hurting, he sees his brother had followed him. He points his gun at him and can see he’s pointing a gun too, fighting back tears as he’s trying to kill him. Ki Hyun ends up shooting Ki Tae and killing him.

A while later

Geon-Young leaves the office, on his way out, he asks Dae Sik where he hid the 70 billion, he laughs and says its going back to the people. He tries to shake his hands and Geon-Young refuses. He’s given a suit for his new venture but he ultimately refuses it.

He leaves the office, as he leaves he says he sold his values and believes Ki Tae did too. Then he sees Ki Hyun, he stops and asks, “do you have any regrets?” via a flashback, we get to see that Dae Sik told Ki Hyun if he won’t kill his brother, his family would be killed.

We see a flashback of Ki Tae enjoying his promotion back in the day, sitting at the president’s desk smoking a cigar as he looks into the camera.

A bit of both, while Ki Tae did end up dead, it was still bittersweet because it had to be done by his brother.
