“Melo Movie” Ending Explained- Episode 10 Recap And Finale

Netflix has unveiled all the 10 episodes of “Melo Movie” and in this article, we’ll recap the finale and explain the ending!

“Melo Movie” episode 10 recap

The episode begins as Gyeom recalls the painful past memories including his brother’s death.

He’s driving the car with Mubee and they go deep into conversations together. She asks him if she tells him her secret, will he still love her? She says she thinks she’s the reason her dad died.

She goes into details about how much it hurt growing up with him not around and his eyes were always on movies. On the day of his death, he said he wanted to come to celebrate her birthday, and she said he should come as fast as possible if he can even do it.
He ends up doing that but dies on his way, and she’s badly hurt by what she said blaming herself for his death.

She then asks about his secret, he explains that its gloomy and cowerdly. He says even when he knew his brother had attempted suicide, he acted like he didn’t know because he thought it was because of him, he was scared.

At the bar, Si Jun talks to ahjussi and asks how he and Ju A looked like. He complained about them but then says they were a great couple and he was only able to love like that because of his age and he should be happy he got to experience it.
Ju A looks back on their memories together and cries.

At Mubee’s house, Gyeom shows up with plants and flowers to plant for her mom. She talks to him and basically tells him to trat Mubee nicely and not take it too hard on himself.

At night, Mubee’s mother comes back. Mubee asks about how her dad was and her mom gets honest, she also says Mubee takes after him and she doesn’t know how kind she truly is. Her mom says she wants to see her movies because of this. Her mom tears up and apologizes for not being kind enough or there emotionally expressive with her. She wishes she could’ve been kinder to Mubee.
We see flashback of how she was always there for Mubee but Mubee was on the lookout for her dad and could only see him. Her mother had always tried to be there in her own way but Mubee just didn’t see that.
Mubee cries and apologies for not seeing it properly.

Jung Hoo comes by as Gyeom sells him old movies with VHS tapes, he complains about it but takes it anyways.
Ju A comes by to Mubee’s house and gets real, she yells at her asking her to take a chance on the project because Si Joon worked so hard on the soundtrack. mubee is going to try to get funding but stops by Si Jun first. She says the song he sent her last night stuck with her and she’d love to make the movie happen. He says it felt good composing it and it felt right for the 1st time in a while.

After they both leave, Si Jun comes after Ju A and says he’s been holding onto the past for too long, she asks if they’re actually breaking up, and he says yes. He doesn’t want to interact with her after this or even come across her and they’d seperate completely.
He then begins to tear up and walks back on it talking about how she’d miss out on all of that, she comes close to him as he cries and tells him he’d get over it. As he cries and asks how he’d ever be full again.

She gives him a kiss and leaves. After this project concludes so would their relationship for good.

Gyeom drinks from his brother’s liqour and tries to smoke, he wants to remember him. He then shows up before him and teaches him how to smoke, he says there is alot Gyeom does not know about him.
He tells his brother to come by every once and a while and be with him in his dreams, he promises he won’t get mad or sad. He cries with Joon embracing him.

After that, Gyeom meets with Mubee and says he’s done watching movies or being a critic. He’s now going to find a job and live life to the fullest.

A while after the movie gets released
The movie is well rated but unlike what Mubee directs so it flops badly. However, oddly, the soundtrack from the movie becomes viral and does well making Si Jun a star.

The focus becomes on him instead of Ju A or Mubee.
We also find out that Gyeom took in Jung Hoo who now lives with him. They prepare a night get together to celebrate the movie’s release and we find out that Director Ma whom had worked with both in the past was the angel investor.

Ju A and Si Jun try not to cross paths again but Si Jun does see her on accident once, he’s happy she’s doing well.

Mubee is still working on movies while Gyeom tries to find a job, but he stills comes by every once and a while on set to bother her.

On a set, the couple kiss each other happily as they continue to tease each other.
