“My Dearest Nemesis” Ending Explained

“My Dearest Nemesis” has ended its run earlier today airing its 11^th and 12^th episodes back to back, let us recap the finale and explain the ending!

Ju Yeon overhears employees talking about how Su Jeong was being talked about, he also hears she’s been offered a position overseas. At night, while they take a stroll, he tells her to go the U.S. tomorrow if she likes and that she doesn’t have to worry about him. She’s not exactly thrilled with the way he’s speaking so she leaves early.

In the morning, Ju Yeon speaks to Sin-Won about Ha-Jin and how she also must be feeling anxious before jumping into it. He scolds him a bit.

As he walks through the office, he finds out Su Jeong is speaking to everyone on the phone but him. He suspects he did something wrong, after speaking with chief Kwon who explains to him why he was wrong with his wording, he says he meant he’d go with her to the U.S. Thus, he goes to her apartment to meet and discovers she’s at his.

There, they meet. But she understood what he meant despite being angry at first. She decorated his home and wanted to cook him a happy meal. During their meal, she says she decided to stay. She worked hard to get here and she realizes she has many people who care for her, especially there is someone who loves her just the way she is.

At night, Ha-Jin calls Sin-Won, however, she put the phone on speakers so the entire place overhears his confession to her. He says I love you and she drops her phone, as she keeps trying to reach for it, she says, ‘I love you too,’ and she asks to hang up. The entire place watched them and claps for them.

The next day, the family of Su Jeong goes to visit her mom’s resting place on her birthday. On their way out, they see Ju Yeon also come to visit his parents. He introduces her to his parents and she says they should come together more often.

Chief Kwon talks to Ju Yeon grandma and explains how love made him able to work so hard to be acknowledged by her, the grandma realizes she screwed up big time.

When he visits Ha Jin after work, Sin Won finds out she’s now swarmed with new customers who want to try her food.

The grandma goes to Ju Yeon’s house and sees his games on display realizing he’s not afraid anymore of showing off his interests. The grandma apologizes and says she wished she’d died instead of her son and she falsely blamed her grandson. She hugs him as they both cry as she says she’s sorry.

In tangent with this, Ju Yeon and Su Jeong cancel their prior agreement. And when the staff says they should have a team dinner and go to karaoke, they do that but Su Jeong is anxious because of Ju Yeon.

As the couple continue to spend their time together, Su Jeong is hard at work trying to find a hobby, but her competitive spirit and the fact that she can’t ace anything so fast makes her angry. She decides to pause learning new hobbies for now and just enjoy her life.

Ju Yeon rents Su Jeong and Ha Jin a cabinet and they spend the night there. Ju Yeon is gifted a scarf made by Su Jeong as they watch the first snow. Sin Won also tells Ha Jin that its ok she’s suspicious of him, but he’ll always keep being by her side.

The next day, Sin Won gives Ju Yeon his resignation, he wants to join Ha Jin and help out with her restaurant. We also find out that Su Jeong’s dad bought stocks of her company that have now risen dramatically.

They run into the grandma and the dad wants to give her an earful, but she shuts him down and apologizes to Su Jeong instead. But she says she’ll still judge her for her skills at work.

Ju Yeon joins as a new director in the board of members amid celebrations.

The next day, Su Jeong finds out she’s been promoted to section chief. She also finds out her younger brother is becoming a firefighter. On that day, Ju Yeon also gifts her a necklace to show his love, she accepts it.

The last scene of the drama shows Su Jeong and Ju Yeon meeting at a traffic light as it snows, the couple happily meet in the middle and walk together in the snow.
