Variety Show “Good Day” Issues Apology For Including Kim Soo Hyun In Recent Episode + Recently Filmed Episode Is Not Airing
Variety Show “Good Day” has issued a statement about Kim Soo Hyun’s participation in upcoming broadcast!
On the 17th of March, the Good Day production team released an official statement, saying, “We recognize the severity of the controversy surrounding a cast member and are continuing production while prioritizing viewer feedback.”
The production team explained that Good Day is a pre-recorded program due to the translation process for overseas broadcasts, usually filmed one to two weeks in advance. They stated, “Episode 5, which aired on the 16th, was an urgently edited version that minimized Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance due to the growing controversy. As a result, the episode was about 10 minutes shorter than usual.”
Regarding the recording on March 13, they said, “The production team waited for Kim Soo Hyun’s agency’s official statement as the controversy unfolded. However, since the agency stated that they would release their statement the following week (as of March 13) and it would be difficult to secure the cast member’s schedule afterward, we had no choice but to proceed with the recording after much deliberation.”
They continued, “After careful discussion, the production team recorded and filmed as much as possible without overlapping with other cast members while keeping the possibility of footage deletion in mind. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to those who love Good Day in this process.”
The production team further stated, “As long as the controversy persists, the purpose of Good Day, the sincerity of the cast, and the support of our viewers may continue to be damaged. Therefore, we have decided to edit out as much of Kim Soo Hyun’s footage as possible.”
They added, “The ‘Good Day Assembly’ segment, which began airing in Episode 5, was filmed on February 18 and will continue to unfold over Episodes 6–7. However, Kim Soo Hyun’s footage will be edited out as much as possible. Additionally, the individual recording session from March 13 will not be aired.”
Lastly, the production team stated, “We will continue to work hard to bring joy to our viewers and ensure Good Day remains a program that brings people together on good days with good company. We will also carefully consider the feelings of the cast members who are part of this journey with us.”
