Kim Soo Hyun’s Agency Announces Mother Of The Late Kim Sae Ron And Others Referred To Prosecutors Over Spreading False Information
Actor Kim Soo Hyun is reportedly continuing to prove his legal innocence. Garosero Research Institute (Garosero) CEO Kim Se Ui, who claimed that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, was arrested and indicted on charges of spreading false information, and it has now been reported that the late actress’s mother, who made the same claims, has been referred to prosecutors on the same charges.
Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist announced on October 26 that the late Kim Sae Ron’s mother has been referred to prosecutors. The agency said, “Criminal charges have been recognized against the accomplices who took part in a series of crimes, including spreading false information, along with Kim Se Ui, and the accomplices referred this time include the late actress’s mother and a person who impersonated the late actress’s aunt.”
According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station investigation result notice released by the agency, the late actress’s mother, Ms. A, and Ms. B, who impersonated the late actress’s aunt, were charged with violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation through the spreading of false information), violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of footage taken with cameras, etc.), and attempted coercion. A decision not to refer the case was made for the late actress’s father, Mr. C.
Gold Medalist said that separate investigations were carried out by the police on accomplices who were not originally included in the complaint, and that the family’s lawyer, Mr. D, who led two press conferences using false and fabricated materials confirmed by investigators (forged KakaoTalk messages and AI voice manipulation), and YouTube operator Mr. E were also referred to prosecutors.
According to the police investigation results, Mr. D was referred to prosecutors on charges of defamation under the Criminal Act and violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation through the spreading of false information), while Mr. E was referred on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of footage taken with cameras, etc.).
The agency said, “We deeply thank the investigative agency for its efforts in carefully verifying the facts based on vast materials and objective evidence and revealing the truth of the crimes and those who took part in them.”
Reports say that the controversy over Kim Soo Hyun’s relationship with a minor, which dragged him down to rock bottom, is being confirmed as untrue through the accomplices being referred to prosecutors one after another, and that Kim Soo Hyun has returned after fully clearing his name. Earlier, the police reportedly concluded that the allegations that he dated Kim Sae Ron as a minor were false, and he was reportedly cleared of child welfare law violation allegations.
The case has become even more shocking as not only Garosero CEO Kim Se Ui, who raised the allegations about Kim Soo Hyun, but also the late actress’s mother, an impersonator of her aunt, and the family’s lawyer have been referred to prosecutors.
Kim Se Ui had continued to claim through YouTube broadcasts since March last year that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor and was responsible for her death. He also held a press conference on behalf of the family and released a voice recording of the late actress and materials claimed to be KakaoTalk conversations with Kim Soo Hyun. Authorities determined that the voice recording released by Kim Se Ui was a fake file created with generative AI, and that the KakaoTalk conversations between Kim Soo Hyun and the late Kim Sae Ron were also fabricated. Kim Se Ui was arrested in May on charges of spreading false information about Kim Soo Hyun and is currently in custody.
Kim Soo Hyun has since made his first domestic public appearance in a year.
