“Goblin” Cast Members To Celebrate Hit Drama’s 10th Anniversary With This
The main cast of the drama “Goblin” will gather in one place to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
According to tvN on the 26th of March, actors Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na and other key members of the production will embark on a short trip through “Goblin 10th Anniversary (working title).” Reuniting with “Goblin” after a long time, they will take time to look back on iconic scenes and lines, as well as the special meaning the work has left behind.
tvN added, “We believe ‘Goblin’ is an iconic work that has been loved consistently beyond its original broadcast. With the 10th anniversary special, we aim to evoke memories of viewers who have been with tvN and reignite nostalgia for this life-changing work. The laughter and emotions of that time, the unwavering chemistry of the actors even after 10 years, and the resonance the work has left will all be revisited, so we ask for much anticipation.”
First broadcast in 2016 as “The Lonely and Great God – Goblin,” the drama made history as the first cable drama to surpass a 20% viewership rating. Even after its conclusion, it has been consistently loved on overseas platforms and is considered one of the representative dramas that led the spread of Hallyu. Above all, the actors’ delicate performances, writer Kim Eun Sook’s distinctive witty dialogue, director Lee Eung Bok’s cinematography, and the OST that completed the work’s emotional tone dominated music charts for a long time, creating a cultural phenomenon.
As a result, it swept awards including the 2017 Baeksang Arts Awards, Cable TV Broadcasting Awards, and Korea Drama Awards, cementing its place not only as a hit but as a work symbolizing the sensibilities and popular culture of an era.
Meanwhile, “Goblin 10th Anniversary (working title)” is scheduled to air in the first half of this year.
