Ju Haknyeon Denies Prostitution Allegations In Handwritten Apology Letter After Getting Removed From THE BOYZ
Ju Haknyeon (26), a former member of the boy group THE BOYZ, has addressed fans in a brief apology letter to his Instagram stories!
On June 18, his agency confirmed his withdrawal from his group and the agency itself following allegations that he met with a former adult video star named Asuka Kirara (37) recently. At the time of the 1st reports emerging, the general jist of the story was that he met with the Japanese woman and had skinship but nothing more was added, leading people to believe it was only a get-together.
However, since the first reports and his removal from the group, media outlet TenAsia released a shocking report claiming that multiple entertainment industry insiders told them that prostitution was involved.
The media outlet alleged, “In late May, Ju Haknyeon met Asuka Kirara at a private bar in Tokyo and spent the night with her. During this encounter, he gave her money—this was an act of prostitution.” One insider also revealed, “It wasn’t just Ju Haknyeon—one of the producers formerly under One Hundred was also sidelined due to a related prostitution issue.”
While the agency had initially referred only vaguely to “a personal matter” when announcing Ju Haknyeon’s departure from THE BOYZ, it’s now understood that during internal fact-checking, they discovered evidence of him engaging in prostitution with Asuka Kirara. Ju is said to have initially denied the allegations, but admitted the act after concrete proof was presented.
According to Article 21 of the Korean Act on the Punishment of Acts of Arranging Sexual Traffic, individuals who engage in prostitution can face up to one year of imprisonment or a fine of up to 3 million won. Even if the act takes place overseas, Korean nationals can be punished under domestic law.
However, the idol has since come out with an apology letter but denied the prostitution allegations. He wrote,
Hello, this is Ju Haknyeon.
First of all, I sincerely apologize to the fans who were shocked by the recent article about me. I also want to apologize to everyone for causing concern with an unpleasant matter.
On May 30, 2025, I was at a gathering with an acquaintance late at night, and although I left the place shortly after, the article and rumors have caused misunderstandings. However, I want to clarify that there was no illegal behavior or any such misconduct as suggested.
I deeply reflect on my actions and would like to sincerely apologize once again to those who were surprised and disappointed.
In related news, the CEO of his agency further issued an apology letter over this situation.
