SM Has Finally Had Enough, Announces Legal Action In Defense Of Seunghan After He Departs RIIZE
SM Entertainment is planning on taking legal action against rights violations involving Seunghan, a former member of the group RIIZE who recently left the group.
On the 17th of October, SM Entertainment issued a statement announcing their plans to do this. Previously, on the 11th, SM Entertainment issued an official statement announcing Seunghan’s return to the group. He later posted a handwritten letter on the fan communication platform Weverse confirming this. However, Korean fans soon expressed their opposition to re-adding him to the group, they began sending death flower wreaths to SM’s building. The situation was so bad that over 1000 wreaths were at the site.
Then, two days later, SM announced that he’s leaving the group and the idol himself also confirmed this via a handwritten letter to fans saying he doesn’t want to cause any more harm to the group.
Many international fans have voiced their concern and fury at SM for not properly defending Seunghan from how the situation went down and for not trying to control the hate he’s been getting. And now that SM is taking legal action after the entire mess went down, many fans are not reacting nicely to the announcement.

Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
We are providing information regarding our legal response to the infringement of the rights of our artist, Seunghan.
Since Seunghan’s debut, we have continuously monitored malicious posts and comments containing false information, personal attacks, insults, and slander. We have already gathered a significant amount of evidence and are in the process of filing complaints against various illegal activities.
In particular, creating false information that impersonates acquaintances on social media and defames the artist’s character and reputation, and maliciously reproducing and widely disseminating such false information, is clearly a criminal act.
We are taking immediate legal action for all such illegal activities related to Seunghan as soon as they are confirmed, and we will continue to respond firmly without any settlements or leniency.
We thank the fans who support Seunghan, and we will continue to do our utmost to protect our artists.
