THE BOYZ file Criminal Complaint Against Their Former Agency’s CEO On Embezzlement Charges

Group THE BOYZ has not only requested the termination of their exclusive contracts with their agency but has also filed a criminal complaint against the company’s CEO, Cha Ga Won, on embezzlement charges.

According to THE BOYZ’s legal representative, “It is true that we recently filed a complaint against CEO Cha Ga Won for violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement).”

Previously, nine members—Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric (excluding New)—announced the termination of their exclusive contracts with ONE HUNDRED.

Last month, their legal side stated, “Due to serious violations of the exclusive contract by ONE HUNDRED and the irreparable breakdown of trust, we notified contract termination on February 10. Accordingly, the contracts have been lawfully terminated and are no longer valid.”

THE BOYZ claimed that on-site staff wages were unpaid and that essential expenses for entertainment activities were not properly supported.

However, ONE HUNDRED has refuted the claims, stating that it cannot accept the termination of the members’ contracts.

Meanwhile, CEO Cha Ga Won is suspected of receiving advance payments using artists’ intellectual property rights but failing to carry out the business. He has also recently been sued on fraud charges involving hundreds of billions of won, leading police to conduct a search and seizure of the agency.

Following this, a series of artists—including Lee Seung Gi, VIVIZ, Lee Mujin, and BE’O—have reportedly been leaving the company one after another.
