Kim Soo Hyun Makes First Domestic Public Appearance In A Year At 2026 The Fact Music Awards

Kim Soo Hyun took the stage as a presenter, making his first official domestic appearance in about a year.

Kim Soo Hyun attended the “2026 The Fact Music Awards,” held at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on the afternoon of the 19th, as a presenter.

Taking the stage with a bright smile, Kim Soo Hyun said, “I stand here today as a listener who loves K-pop,” before presenting the trophy to Popularity Award winner Lim Young Woong.

This marks Kim Soo Hyun’s first official domestic appearance in about a year, following the controversy that erupted over his past relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron. He was reportedly cleared of child welfare law violation allegations tied to the case.

Kim Sae Ron’s family and several YouTube channels had previously raised allegations that the two dated while she was a minor, which Kim Soo Hyun’s side strongly denied, pursuing legal action in response. Police, who had been investigating the case, concluded it in May by indicting and detaining Garosero Institute representative Kim Se Ui on charges of fabricating audio and conversations using AI technology to spread false information.

Having moved past the legal controversy, Kim Soo Hyun first began resuming his career abroad, filming a commercial in the Philippines in July and appearing on an Indonesian broadcast in August, following the release of his first campaign photos since the controversy.

With this domestic award show appearance, Kim Soo Hyun has begun his full-scale return to domestic activities. He is also set to attend the “AAA 2026” awards ceremony in December, where he will continue meeting with fans.
