Prada Terminates Kim Soo Hyun’s Contract As Their Global Ambassador Amid Growing Controversy
Kim Soo Hyun is stepping down as Prada’s global ambassador.
On the 14th of March, Prada’s client service team stated, “Considering the severity of the issue, we have decided to terminate our collaboration with actor Kim Soo Hyun by mutual agreement. The contract has been terminated. This decision was made at the headquarters level.”
Kim Soo Hyun had been serving as Prada’s ambassador since December of last year. However, the contract has been terminated after approximately three months.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun has been at the center of controversy following allegations that he had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor. His agency strongly denied the claims, calling them “clearly false” and warning of legal action. However, the controversy has not died down, especially after photos showing physical affection between the two were released.
Not only that, but Dispatch released an exclusive report exposing GOLD MEDALIST and alleging the relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron was indeed real.
Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has since announced that they will issue an official statement next week to clarify the facts on March 13 and counter what they describe as baseless rumors. They retracted their statement and announced a new lengthy official statement just a day after that fact. However, he reversed his previous stance of calling the claims “groundless” and admitted to the relationship itself. He insisted that they dated from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020, after Kim Sae Ron had become an adult.
Reactions to the actor’s explanation have been extremely mixed, at best, with many attempting to discredit or prove wrong some of the agency’s points. It remains unclear whether he’ll ever be able to recover.
