BREAKING: Beloved Supporting Actor Song Young Kyu Found Dead In His Car
Actor Song Young Kyu (54) has passed away, and police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
On the morning of the 4th of August, the late Song Young Kyu was found in cardiac arrest inside a parked vehicle on the roadside in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province.
Regarding the incident, the Yongin Dongbu Police Station stated to Maeil Business Star Today, “No signs of foul play have been found, but since the exact cause of death has not been determined, we are conducting a thorough investigation to clarify it.”
Back on June 19, Song Young Kyu had been sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of driving under the influence. He was alleged to have driven approximately 5 kilometers under the influence from Giheung-gu to Cheoin-gu in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province.
At the time, his blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license cancellation (0.08% or higher).
Due to the incident, he stepped down from the play Shakespeare in Love, and the production teams of SBS’s “The Winning Try” and ENA’s “The Defects” announced they would edit out his scenes.
His funeral is being held in Room 1 of the Davos Hospital Funeral Hall in Yongin, with the procession scheduled for 8 a.m. on the 6th. The burial site is Hanbaeksan Memorial Park.
Song Young Kyu made his debut in 1994 with the children’s musical Wizard Mureul and was well known to the public for his role as Chief Choi in the film Extreme Job. He also appeared in the Netflix series Narco-Saints and Disney+ series Big Bet.
