Tae Seo goes back to his town and is walking by the places they frequent where the fireflies were and runs into Eun-A. She wants to speak but notices his friends have arrived with a car and are signaling to him. She leaves on her bicycle.
On the way back to Seoul after drinking together, A-sol asks who that was and why she was there, he says she’s his ex but he doesnt know.
Tae Seo visits his grandma who is suffering from memory loss, she recalls him from his military years. He asks his brother on the way out if he’d seen Eun-A, he avoids the question and Tae Seo leaves.
The shop grandma catches him back in the town and signals he should rush to see Eun-A. He arrives at their school and they take their bicycles back together. She says he should follow her and they should say goodbye but he does not and stays still. When he gets back, he feels bad so he reaches out to her. He asks if he’s caused her inconvenience and she says not. She reveals she’s leaving overseas with Park So-Hyeon.
A-sol comes by and they have snacks together as they watch a movie but nothings comes of it.
Eun-A does a favor to a friend in Seoul on another day and decides to show up at his place but then A-sol sees that and goes up and types in his house’s password. Eun-A leaves.
Then, at night, the two meet back in their town again this time having a proper conversation. She thanks him and tells him she was able to do a lot because of him. He’s happy for her but also sad she’s going away.
Seong-Chan quits the hotel and comes outside, calls Eun-A and says goodbye to her on the phone. Talks about how much she meant to him. She also says its true she ran to her ex by chance. The two part ways well.
A-Sol hears bad news about her dad, he’s stable for now but dying. She goes back to Tae Seo and says saying goodbye is rough and she wants to know what he’s thankful for with her.
Tae Seo grandma is getting better and she gets back to her town and place. She greets Eun-A and thanks her for brushing their car to help drive Tae Seo to military, says its been weighing on her. At night, she gets her memory back from the now and Eun-A rushes to see her. Tae Seo is talking to his grandma on the phone and overhears Eun-A talking to her. He tears up.
Eun-A packs her bags and prepares to leave. She agrees to meet Tae Seo at the bus stop and they sit far from each other. Then do the same on the train glancing at each other and sending messages. At the airport they say proper goodbyes to each other. Yeon Tae Seo said, “We’ll do as we talked about. I was able to make up my mind because of you, so I’ll go ahead first. If you are loved there and feel like thinking about your future with me included, contact me.”
For the first time, the two parted after seeing each other’s faces. Yeon Tae Seo held Mo Eun A and confessed, “I love you, Mo Eun A.”
A year later, Tae Seo managed Mo Eun A’s house and stayed in contact with her, waiting for her.

No, it does not. The couple officially part ways but keep each other in their heart. Eun-A eventually moves away but keeps in touch with Tae Seo

No, they didn’t. They separated but kept in touch.
Did you like “Still Shining” ending?
It was an open-ended ending, and I was kind of disappointed because there was no resolution whatsoever. Maybe I just prefer stories I am committed to to have some kind of resolution to the lingering problem of the protagonists.
With that said, I still love the tone of the series. It was melancholic but peaceful at the same time. It mirrors realism with the sides of awesome visuals. Editing, cinematography and direction was top notch, all through-out it was an eye candy. A sad story told in a calm tone if that makes sense.
I enjoyed it in the beginning, but the last few episodes left me very frustrated and annoyed at the writers portrayal of the FL incapacity to have clarity in her communication. She was a very depressive person who looked like she had no joy or passion in her life. Because I am an eternal optimist, I cannot understand lifeless humans. You have been given an opportunity to have life, please live it, do they even understand about spiritual growth? Why
Live life as a victim. What a waste of life. I would like to slap the writer for the ending.
