It starts with a flashback to when Seong Hui handed Su Hyeon water pretending to care for her as Yeong Min beat her up for not listening to him. Then, the child frees the girl and she runs away.

She calls Ha Bin and asks her to meet up because she needs to tell her something in person. Ha Bin takes off to see her.

Eo-Jin interviews Ha Bin and pressures her considering her the killer, Ha Bin asks what evidence they had to confirm this besides being ghosted by Su Hyeon. After that, her father interviews her, he is sorry that people looked at her like that and how she felt about it. He believes she’s innocent and as he leaves the interrogation room, he asks Eo-Jin what convictions she has to support why Ha Bin is the killer.

Do Yun is getting interviewed again Seong Hui asks to accompany him on his interview. The mom says he should come by for a visit and a meal, but the kid tells him to not eat his mother’s food. Dae-Hong agrees at first but she begins derailing the questioning as he pressures him, he asks her to get out of the room.

Dae-Hong senses he screwed up something and Eo-Jin feels the same. When Dae-Hong goes back to interview the kid, he shows him the candy he alleged to have given to Min-a and he accepts it thereby confirming he has no idea they were drugs.

Tae-Soo tells the detective he’s sure its Seong Hui and goes back to ask his daughter if the mother did anything odd before her death, she says she went to where her brother rested and wrote letters. They read the letters and discover the mother, while initially doubted Ha Bin, realized that it might not be her and she aided in burying a body that her daughter had nothing to do with.

The mother had arrived at the scene following her daughter and saw her daughter come out of the building. She then went inside and found the body on the ground and took it with her. As she buried it, she was threatened and extorted for money.

Before her death, the mother did confront Seong Hui who plays it cool and says she saw Ha Bin kill Su Hyeon and even if she didn’t, what type of mother would believe her daughter did such a thing and bury the body?

The father and daughter have a heated discussion and she urges him not to arrest her because she won’t stop until she kills Seong Hui, she even says he killed his wife because he doubted her and it led to their life being miserable and to this ultimately.

She ends up taking away Seong Hui’s son as she’s being questioned. She takes him someplace using it as a distraction, she then arrives at the station and as Seong Hui is being escorted, she is about to stab her before the father interferes. He grabs the knife and says she should kill him. He cries and apologies and admits he ultimately killed his wife with his actions because he ran away not wanting to confront his doubts. He then asks if she killed Ha Jun and she says no, he says he believes her.

Tae-Soo goes in to interview Seong Hui and poke holes in her argument. We find out that she killed Su Hyeon because she found out she’s truly the mastermind. She hit her with a bat and then strangled her. She then began filming the video, they restored the video from Yeong Min’s phone and you can hear Ha Bin’s voice which proves she could not have committed the crime.

As Ha bin left the place not finding Su Hyeon, Seong Hui began moving the body again and as she was doing so, Su Hyeon’s phone rang so she hid while the mother came inside. Thus, she decides to film the mother and extort her.

Ha Bin, in their home, discovered the hard drive her mother had bought from the store that proves Ha Bin couldn’t have killed her, it also places Seong Hui in the crime place when it took place. Her child also admits his mom poisons people and is afraid of eating her food.

After this ends, Tae-Soo talks to Ha Bin and tells her he will stay by her side, she’s not like Seong Hui and he’ll stay by her side as figures out who she is.

Joon-Tae’s father is escorted to his cell and passes on a letter to his son who cries reading it.

Tae-Soo turns in his resignation letter and leaves the force. He now is a full time dad taking care and being by his daughter’s side. The two celebrate her birthday and he gifts her a watch.

That was a partially satisfying ending…. But a lot is left unanswered.. its a shame really.

The screenwriter used Ha Bin as the bait for the drama’s suspense. It worked but it became frustrating as time went by. Because she refused to end it properly to favor the suspense, she sacrificed what could’ve seriously been one of the best written suspense kdramas in recent memory.

There is a lot left unanswered. We don’t know why Su Hyeon cut contact with Ha Bin, because this is a root of a big portion of the issue. Also, while she appears cold, Ha Bin does try her best to fit in, aside from intense confrontations with the police she didn’t strike me as someone who would seem like a psychopath on first look.

What did she do to Su Hyeon that turned her off like this And led to her mother seriously suspecting her?

Not only that, but the entire storyline of the teacher and the father is probably the most flawed part of the entire drama. The father appears out of nowhere somehow aware of his son’s crimes. He pretends to be Min-a’s dad searching for the truth and he came out of left field.

His character was needed, but his introduction was deeply flawed and abrupt.

Also, we don’t get insight to Seong Hui as much as we deserved. We needed to know more about her, how her husband died and such. It was a missed opportunity.

In essence, it makes sense that Ha Bin would bait the police to catch who killed Su Hyeon, but a lot of parts leading up to her own investigation into it, especially at the beginning, is… dizzying and missing additional context.

This is a story about a horrible failure of a father. He’s truly the cause of his family’s misery and is such a horrible husband that at no point in the mother’s dilemma did she think of consulting him, he, along with the police, could’ve solved the case with the CCTV she had secured in like a week or so.

I disliked Jang Tae-Soo as a character so much that I nearly quit the drama. This is likely my least fav character played by Han Suk Kyu in a while. Don’t get me wrong, he’s an amazing veteran actor, but this character is such a turnoff.

I might be getting older because such characters are starting to get on my last nerve. He’s very unprofessional, deeply inconsiderate of his teammate, horrible at communication, the worst dad and not the best profiler…. The screenwriter sets him up to be this amazing profiler but we never get to see it play out properly. The dude is being toyed by his own daughter…. A high school student simply because he never wanted to confront his own doubts….

And he lacks emotional depth in dealing with a child… like dude…. Do you even know how to parent?

But some people are just not equipped to handle difficult kids, however, if you know you suck, consult a psychiatrist… especially if its about your daughter’s growth. Especially as a profiler, shouldn’t you be aware of how essential this could be?

Doubt as a script had a lot of potential to be something much bigger, and I believe it wasn’t easy for MBC to decide on 10 episodes for a weekend drama cause they rarely ever do that…. But… while it has a lot of seeds to what could’ve been a good kdrama, its also plagued by some writing issues too.

Overall, this ending was fine… but I think it could’ve been much better. I had a hunch the screenwriter wouldn’t dare make the daughter a killer and I was right. That option would’ve made way more sense and made this an even more memorable drama.
