FTISLAND To Promote As Two Members For The Time Being Following Allegations Against Choi Min Hwan
Choi Min Hwan faces allegations of visiting a prostitution establishment, and as a result, the band FTISLAND will continue as a two-member unit.
On the 29th of October, FNC Entertainment (hereafter “FNC”) released a statement, saying, “After an in-depth discussion on FTISLAND’s future activities, we have decided that, temporarily, the group will operate as a two-member unit with Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin.”
They added, “Starting with the scheduled event on November 2, the drum position will be filled by a session musician. Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin, who have been preparing earnestly, plan to perform without issue.”
According to FNC, FTISLAND will appear as a duo at several previously scheduled events, including the “Grand Mint Festival 2024” on November 2, the “Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Music Festival Theater” on November 8, “FTISLAND Live ‘Pulse’ in Macau 2024” on November 10, “Live On Busan” on November 17, and “Love in Seoul 2024” on November 24.
FNC expressed, “We sincerely apologize to the event organizers, the fans, and the audience who experienced any confusion. We will provide further updates as soon as additional details are confirmed.”
The controversy erupted after Choi’s ex-wife Yulhee publicly exposed the allegations through her YouTube channel on the 24th, sharing a recorded conversation that reportedly included evidence of Choi’s involvement in such establishments.
In response, FNC Entertainment issued a statement on the 25th to announce his hiatus for the time being, he also stepped down from The Return of Superman. As a result, police are also set to investigate the idol.
