Famous Comedian Absent From Hit Variety Show Filming As Tensions Between KBS And One Hundred Escalate Due To SM’s Alleged Interference
As tensions between KBS and One Hundred continue to escalate, comedian Lee Soo Geun is also reportedly absent from KBS programs, following singer Lee Mu Jin.
According to the broadcasting industry on the 7th of March, Lee Soo Geun did not participate in the scheduled recording of the KBS Joy variety show “Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller” on the 7th. Due to MC Lee Soo Geun’s absence, the recording was canceled.
On the same day, Han Kyung Cheon, head of KBS’s entertainment center, spoke at the “2025 KBS Spring New Variety Show Presentation” held at the KBS New Building in Yeouido, Seoul. He stated, “I have worked on ‘Music Bank’ for a long time, and casting and lineup decisions are 99% up to the production team. Ultimately, it is a communication issue between the production team and the agency,” avoiding making a clear stance on the issue.
Previously, on the 5th of March, Lee Mu Jin did not appear at the scheduled recording of the KBS Kpop web variety show “Limousine Service.” Instead, NMIXX’s Kyujin, who was the guest that day, reportedly hosted the show alone.
This controversy is believed to have originated from KBS’s alleged refusal to allow Xiumin to appear on KBS2’s “Music Bank.” The conflict between KBS and One Hundred now seems to have originated from INB100, a subsidiary of One Hundred.
On the 4th of March, One Hundred stated, “Recently, KBS unofficially conveyed that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on KBS2’s ‘Music Bank’ alongside artists from SM Entertainment. KBS, as a public broadcasting company, making such a decision solely based on the stance of a specific company is an extremely unfair act.”
In response, KBS denied the claims, stating, “This is completely unfounded. The production team has been in continuous communication with Xiumin’s agency.”
Currently, One Hundred represents artists such as Lee Mu Jin and Lee Soo Geun, while INB100 is home to EXO members Xiumin, Baekhyun, and Chen.
