Lee Jonghyun, a former member of the group CNBLUE, has resumed his social media activity after eight years, sharing an update on his life.

On August 10th, Lee Jonghyun posted several photos along with a lengthy message on his account, writing, “This is Lee Jonghyun. I left this account empty for eight years.”

He said, “My account was hacked, and I’m still in the process of requesting to have my ID and bio corrected,” adding, “There were a few years when I turned my back on the world. After that, I learned a trade to try to make a living.”

He continued, “It’s small, but for eight years I’ve found enjoyment in beauty marketing and have been doing it professionally,” and shared, “This is what my days look like these days. I have meetings, take apart products, and think about how I can do better.”

He also confided, “I go out in the morning and come home at night. I’ve come to realize just how hard it is to live an ordinary working life. I think everyone out there is amazing.”

He added, “Going forward, I want to live communicating with more people simply as Lee Jonghyun, the person. I hope you have a happy day.”

The photos he shared showed him working at a laptop in what appeared to be an office space, as well as spending time against a night skyline, among other scenes.

Meanwhile, Lee Jonghyun debuted with CNBLUE in 2010 and was active with the group for years before eventually leaving.

He enlisted for active duty in the Army in August 2018, but while serving, he faced public backlash in March 2019 after being revealed as a member of a group chat that included singer Seungri and Jung Joonyoung, who had been embroiled in controversy over filming and distributing illegal sexual videos.

That same year in August, it also came to light that Lee Jonghyun had sent sexually harassing DMs to BJ Park Minjeong, including comments like “your belly fat is so cute,” further embroiling him in controversy one after another, and he ultimately left the group.
