Koo Jun Yup Reveals Memorial Statue Of Late Wife Barbie Hsu On Her 1st Death Anniversary
Even the sky seemed to cry. When the memorial statue personally created by Koo Jun Yup was unveiled, the site was flooded with tears.
On the 2nd of February, an unveiling ceremony was held to mark the first anniversary of the late Barbie Hsu at the Forest of Steles Master Area inside Jinbaoshan Memorial Park in Jinshan District, New Taipei City, Taiwan.
At around 2:15 p.m. that day, the memorial statue of Barbie Hsu, personally designed by Koo Jun Yup, was officially revealed. As Koo Jun Yup himself removed the pink cloth, a white statue came into view. The elegant aura that Barbie Hsu carried during her lifetime was delicately brought to life.
In the statue, Barbie Hsu has her hands gently folded in front of her chest, her eyes softly closed, wearing a calm expression with a faint smile. A ribbon symbolizing “girlish sensibility” and a long skirt with folds that appear to flutter in the wind add a sense of vividness.
Its said that Barbie Hsu’s mother could not contain her emotions and immediately approached and embraced it tightly.
Seeing this, Koo Jun Yup walked over to Barbie Hsu’s mother and held her closely. They comforted each other in the rain. A local media outlet reported that “the scene of the two standing together, leaning on one another in the mist-like rain, evoked even deeper poignancy.”
Barbie Hsu passed away on February 2 last year due to pneumonia caused by influenza while traveling in Japan. After her remains were cremated in Japan, they were transferred to Taiwan three days later on the 5th, and in March last year, she was laid to rest in Taiwan.
